Maryville Little League Baseball Divisions

Welcome to Maryville Little League Baseball! Our divisions are designed to provide players with the best opportunity to learn, grow, and compete at their skill level. Boys' league ages are determined as of August 31 of the current year, and registration will automatically place players in the proper age group.

Season Information

Spring Season

The Spring Season generally runs from April through June, with All-Stars play potentially extending into late July. Tryouts are typically held in March.

Fall Season

The Fall Season generally runs from August to October, with tryouts usually happening in July. League determination is based on the age your child will be in the coming Spring season, meaning they will play in the age group/league they would be slotted for in the coming Spring. The Fall season is slightly slower-paced due to lower participation. The goals of our Fall Season are to continue developing players' skills and love of the game, serve as a "transition" period between official Spring seasons, and, of course, to play ball!

Division Overview

Wee Ball

Age: 4 by 8/31 (Coed): Wee Ball introduces the basics of the game to boys and girls. Players will hit off a tee, and practices will be determined by individual coaches. Players in this division do not attend tryouts.

Tee Ball

Ages: 5–6 by 8/31: Players will have the opportunity to hit off the coach's pitch but can use a tee if needed. Practices will be determined by individual coaches. This division does not require tryouts.

Coach Pitch

Ages: 7–8 by 8/31: Players will hit off the coach's pitch to improve their hitting mechanics. Practices are determined by individual coaches. Tryouts are used to help ensure equitable team distribution, but players not attending tryouts will be randomly assigned to a team. All registered players are guaranteed a spot on a team.

Little League Baseball

Ages: 9–12 by 8/31: Players will hit off pitches from opposing players. Practices will be determined by individual coaches. If participation allows, this division may be divided into Minor and Major leagues:

• Minor League: All league-age 9-year-olds must play in the Minor league.
• Major League: All league-age 12-year-olds must play in the Major league and must attend tryouts unless they were on a Major league roster the previous year.

League-age 10- and 11-year-olds will be placed in a division based on their skill level.

Junior League

Ages: 13–16 by 8/31: Players will hit off pitches from opposing players. Practices will be determined by individual coaches. All registered players will be placed on a team regardless of whether they attend skill evaluations.
